Koofr app for iOS provides an easy way to quickly and securely store, share, organse, move and access files and folders between mobile devices, stationary devices, and cloud storage. You can even integrate storage from other cloud service providers, such as Dropbox, Google Drive and OneDrive.
Getting started:
You can view or run any file stored in Koofr as long as your iOS device has tools or applications to handle that file. In addition, Koofr natively supports the most common photo, video, document, and music file types. This means you can view e.g. PDFs without a dedicated PDF viewer app for iOS. It’s as simple as that!
Note: If your video is not playing (streaming) in the Koofr mobile app on your iOS device, there could be multiple reasons for that:
To create a new folder, select the Files from the Main menu and then tap on Koofr icon. In the next step, press the (+) icon in the upper right corner of the screen. A menu pops-up where you can press New folder. Name your new folder and select Create to confirm the new folder name.

The Koofr app will recognise previously uploaded photos and videos. It will recognise these files as long as they are still located in the same same Media folder (for example My iOS Media). However, if those files were moved to another folder or deleted after being uploaded, the Koofr app cannot detect them as already uploaded and will upload them again.
Note for users with Koofr mobile app version earlier than 4.0.0 : If you want to change the target folder, the Backup photos and videos option must be enabled.

When you back up media from your iOS device to Koofr, you can view the auto-upload progress by tapping Home in the menu at the bottom/top of the screen.
iOS users with Koofr mobile app version earlier than 4.0.0:
When you are backing up your media from your iOS device to Koofr, you can see the progress of the auto upload displayed as a green line at the top of the Koofr iOS application, right under the Search bar.
Note: These instructions apply to users with iOS versions earlier than 26.4. First verify that the Koofr mobile application is open and the screen turned on when the upload stops. If that is not the case, open the Koofr mobile application and turn on the screen. It is not possible to upload the files if the Koofr app is only open in the background.
If your uploads are still stuck after that, open the Koofr web app and check which was the last media file that was uploaded to your Koofr account into the folder you selected for the auto upload.
Next, open the Photos app on your iOS device (photo gallery) and locate a photo that was last uploaded to Koofr. Once you find it, temporarily hide the next file in line for upload (in Photos) and check if the upload to Koofr continues. Before doing so, close and reopen the Koofr mobile app.

No, you can safely delete the files from these folders without it affecting the files on your device.
Open Settings and select Activity.
Note: If you have chosen to use the creation date for auto uploaded uploaded files, keep in mind that newly uploaded photos may not appear in Recents. This can make it seem as though the file has not been uploaded, even though the upload was successful. To see the latest uploads, always check Activity.
Please ensure that you are using the latest version of the Koofr iOS app, that your device is running iOS 26.4 or later, and that Low Power Mode is turned off.
If your photos and videos still do not upload in the background (the app should remain open in the background and not be fully closed), please check your Background App Refresh settings on your iOS device. Go to Settings, select General, find Background App Refresh, turn the feature off, restart your device, and then turn it back on.
Koofr needs full photo access for the background auto-upload to work.
Also make sure your device is connected to a stable Wi-Fi network, or that mobile data is enabled and working properly.
Note: The background uploads are dependent on Apple, and in some cases when it stops uploading it only resumes once the battery is charged to over 80% again and phone is connected to a good WiFi. It will then work on all battery levels normally. But in some cases first run won’t start if battery is not above 80%.
No. Koofr's algorithms are designed to only upload photos and videos that are not already present in your chosen backup folder. When you reinstall the app and re-enable Auto Camera Upload, it will check what's already in your Koofr account and skip any files that have already been backed up.

Photo and video backup on iOS runs automatically in the background and depends heavily on how iOS manages background tasks and system resources. When uploading a large number of files, iOS may temporarily pause or limit background activity to preserve battery life, optimise performance, manage network usage, or prioritize other system processes. As a result, uploads may occasionally slow down, pause, or resume later automatically. This behavior is controlled by iOS and can vary depending on factors such as battery level, Low Power Mode, network conditions, device storage, thermal state, and overall system activity.
Note: Background auto-upload is only supported on devices running app version Koofr 4.0.0 or later and iOS 26.4 or later.
